[00:30.03]Presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway [00:35.20]were given the wrong category's envelope before they went on stage. [00:41.87]They may have been given the back-up envelope for the "best actress" award, [00:48.70]which earlier was given to Emma Stone of "La La Land." [02:20.29]He announced the wrong winner, [02:23.31]first saying it was the contestant from Colombia, [02:28.55]and then realizing the correct winner was actually from the Philippines. [03:18.08]The accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers has been handling Oscar votes [03:25.76]for over 80 years without any problems. [03:30.36]The firm apologized to all of the people who were made uncomfortable by the mistake. [03:37.64]It promised to investigate what caused the error. [03:42.70]Horowitz is being credited for staying calm and stopping the show to correct the error. [03:51.36]People are calling him "gracious," "a great producer," and "classy." [04:01.08]Even Jenkins said "much respect to that dude." [04:06.30]A story from USA Today detailed the backstage moments of the show. [05:07.97]"The Salesman," a film from Iran, won the award for best foreign film. [05:17.16]Director Asghar Farhadi did not attend the ceremony. [05:25.28]He wrote a letter that said he chose not to attend [05:30.68]in protest of President Donald Trump's attempts [05:35.72]to ban immigrants to the United States [05:39.84]from a number of majority Muslim countries, including Iran.
